Ooh, what's the book?

(I wish I could read properly in a moving car. I get nauseated within minutes.)

I always used to think about how crazy it must have been to tour before the internet, by which I just meant using the internet for advancing, travel arrangements, etc. The addition of internet while literally on the road is another whole level. Living in the future!

touring before cellphones and the internet basically meant driving around for half an hour in the middle of nowhere trying to find a payphone so you could call the venue to tell them you were going to be late. also coming home to discover that the thirty-second call you made with your calling card from a gas station payphone in bumfuck holler middle america cost you fifteen dollars. it SUCKED.

Yeah, see, I didn't start working in music until 2000, and I didn't go out for more than maybe three shows at a time until probably 2006. So I missed out on a lot of roughing it! But funny enough, I just saw your most recent post, and Cain's was my favorite venue on my first "real" tour. That springy floor, and I think the dressing room had kind of a hunting lodge vibe? Have never been back, I just remember enjoying it, and taking a picture of where Sid Vicious punched the wall. ha.

I thought there was a daring bare shoulder in there, but I guess it's a seat cover or sleeve or something.
